Easton Sadler's Eagle Project A Success

Project Date- May 12, 2012
Location- Old Alton Bridge Park

The graffiti on the underside of the overpass, bridge supports and on the benches at Old Alton Bridge Park made for a huge eyesore. Easton worked with multiple government entities, mainly Denton County Road and Bridge to get this project done. He learned what "red tape" really means.

Everything went very well, no injuries, and the wildlife attacks were at a minimum. No one even fell into the river. Everyone had a great time painting and having fun. Some volunteers managed to get more paint on themselves and other people than on the bridge and benches... but their help was appreciated too.

Cumulative hours spent on the project totaled 85 hours. When the project was completed all graffiti was covered with a beautiful new coat of paint and the area is now pristine and ready to be enjoyed by all.

Easton asked us to thank everyone who contributed time, materials, money or refreshments to making the project possible. Thank you to all of the contributors of the project!

Easton's special "Thank you'" shout outs are as follows:
- His own mom, dad and sisters Natasha and Alissa.
-Chuck & Corbin Springer
-Austin Stolle
-The Reay family
-The Ralphs family
-Mark & Kate Chadwick
-Ryan Koch
-A special Thanks to Sisters Jerome and Johnson for the refreshments,
And especially Mr. Danny, Dianne and Denton County Road and Bridge for all they did.

We're Getting Ready For Camp Hale!

Thank you to Brother Saddler for providing access for me to this blog and assisting with my technical difficulties!

We have 9 scouts registered to attend Camp Hale coming up July 15-20th.  I am looking forward to this being a productive camp with the boys each working on around 4 merit badges.  If any fathers are available to come for either the whole time or part of the time, please let me know...we need you!  We will be leaving on Saturday, July 14th.

We are working concurrently on 2 merit badges:  Personal Fitness and Personal Management.  In support of these, please encourage your son to keep a daily log of all income and expenses.

If you have any questions, send them to me at Bundy@global.thunderbird.edu.

Thank you,
Trevor Bundy

Derrick Foster's Eagle Project Complete- Finally

After inclement weather forced Derrick Foster to postpone his project a couple times, weather finally cooperated for the determined scout to have a great project. The project accomplished the painting of the rails at the entrance to Arrowhead Park in the Town of Hickory Creek. Derrick warned attendees not to bring clothes they didn't want paint on and you can see why in the pictures below. Thank you to everyone that helped make the project possible.

The rails before
 The materials
The rails after. Now that's a quality paint job.

December Campout to Whitesboro

We are trying to train our troop Historian to photograph and post some updates to the blog. Please be patient while we train these fine young men for this responsibility. For some reason we are short on pictures for our December camp out. We went to Whitesboro and froze. We learned what bacon to buy and what not to buy. No matter how appealing the price may be. As you see in the pictures, we made a huge fire to burn some of the cleared wood.  The boys really enjoyed that. They had two friends come along and that made things more fun. It is great the boys want to share the program with their friends. It also says a lot about our boys.
