Austin Stolle's Eagle Project

We did Austin Stolle's eagle project today at LA Nelson Elementary. Austin asked that we thank everyone that came out and helped. When asked about the landscape early on he said "This is the garden of weeden". Now the landscape has a moon-shaped zen garden, vegetable planter boxes and a grass flower bed. Austin turned 14 Wednesday. Congratulations Austin.

4 Mile Hike Campout

We had a great time on the 4 mile hike campout. Thank you to the Chadwicks for allowing us to stay on their property the night before. We are happy to report those attending all returned safely and have passed off that portion of the camping merit badge. This was also Austin Stolle's last campout with this group. We congratulate him on his advancement. He is in the final stages of his eagle project.

Here are some pictures of the hike:

Trip To Chuy's Restaurant Denton, TX

Troop 164 would like to thank Ryan Fry, Parkway Construction and Chuy's Restaurant for the job site tour of the new location in Denton, TX. The scouts learned a lot about the story of Chuy's and why they have the traditions like "The Hub Cap Room". They learned a lot about construction and learned real life skills like how to read actual plans, good building practices and job site safety. As you can see, we had a great time.

More Slippery Falls Camp Pics

We appreciate everyone who helped make this scout camp a success both visible and behind the scenes. Thank you to Eric who spent the entire week at camp at one of the most inopportune times in his life. Thank you to Dan who was such a big help and committed so much valuable time. Thank you to Sam who looked great every day he was there. Thank you to Mark and Mike that played taxi and helped set up while we rushed the boys to swim check Monday morning.

The food was far better than the camps we have been to in recent years. We were even set up with flushing toilets and showers near by to wash off the dust and sweat from the 102 degree temperatures. Bottom line, we had a great time and can't wait to do it again.
