December Campout to Whitesboro

We are trying to train our troop Historian to photograph and post some updates to the blog. Please be patient while we train these fine young men for this responsibility. For some reason we are short on pictures for our December camp out. We went to Whitesboro and froze. We learned what bacon to buy and what not to buy. No matter how appealing the price may be. As you see in the pictures, we made a huge fire to burn some of the cleared wood.  The boys really enjoyed that. They had two friends come along and that made things more fun. It is great the boys want to share the program with their friends. It also says a lot about our boys.

Food Drive for North Texas Food Bank

We would like to thank everyone that contributed to our food drive for the North Texas Food Bank. We would like to thank Kroger located on Teasley Lane in Denton for their donation as well. The boys went door to door and asked for donations and also left bags for those that weren't home and returned and picked up the food the homeowners left out on the following Wednesday. The drive was a strong success and was very enjoyable.

Hills and Hollows Camp Out

We had a great time and Hills and Hollows. Thank you to Celeste and Stacey  for coming to the camp out and spending the day teaching us First Aid. Sam Sadler may have faked injuries for the cause, but a game of "capture the flag" gave us a lot of First Aid to render.

Although it was cold, and a strange dog took off with the glowing Frisbee, we had fun.

New leadership in Troop 164

Eric Ralphs has been released as the Scout Master. We appreciate his service and will miss him greatly.

Sam Sadler will be moved from Assistant Scoutmaster to be the new Scout Master. Sam can be reached at 940-435-9011. Anthony Wayman will be the new Assistant Scoutmaster. Anthony can be reached at 575-635-0386. Anthony is an experienced outdoors man and is a great addition to the troop.
